    The KNXCONVERTER converts KNX® telegrams to ASCII code and vice-versa. Connecting third-party applications becomes particularly easy. The device transmits data both via TCP and UDP. Thanks to the simple structure of the KNXCONVERTER protocol (ASCII commands), its integration is as simple as conceivably possible.

    A KNX/TP connection as well as a KNXnet/IP server of high value ensure the connection to KNX®. The number of data points is unlimited. The values of all group addresses are stored in an address status table, ready to be processed by third party applications. Different KNX environments with same group addresses can be distinguished using a System ID. Thanks to the use of the identifier and data types, the upload of the ETS4 and ETS5 project data simplifies the creation of ASCII commands. Additionally, the KNXCONVERTER can also be used as a programming interface for the ETS. The device’s web interface facilitates a platform-independent and convenient configuration.




    The KNXCONVERTER “translates” the KNX telegrams to a simple ASCII protocol (KNXCONVERTER protocol) and vice-versa. This enables the connection of non-KNX systems without detailed knowledge of the KNX protocol. TCP or UDP can be used.

    ASCII is one of the best-known and most widely used character codes. It is used by the KNXCONVERTER protocol to simplify controlling KNX® systems. Instead of having to implement the full KNX protocol, the ETS4 and ETS5 project export is applied by the user, simply with the corresponding identifiers.

    Due to the unlimited number of data points, the KNXCONVERTER can easily be used for large projects. More-over, the KNXCONVERTER can both be placed directly on the KNX line (KNX/TP interface) and also on the TCP/IP-based main line or area line (KNXnet/IP server integrated).

    The KNXCONVERTER can be used to link the advantages of various systems in a simple manner. The connection of two worlds thus creates added value for the customer.

    The KNXCONVERTER is also used as an IP router and programming interface for the ETS. In this manner, it combines two functions in a single device.
